The UofA Ski Club is one of the largest clubs on campus and has a membership of over 3700 enthusiastic members for the 2007-2008 school year (were only half way through). We have been around for over 44 years, founded in 1962, our continued success is based on the appeal to a wide range of great people (like you) as a recreational ski club and a social club. Snowboarders are also part of the club and are more than welcome to join. The club not only provides an organized form of recreation and entertainment, but is also one of the best places to meet people at the U of A.
So now that you've heard all the formalities, let me tell you what we do in this club: We go on three major, kick ass, ski trips per year. They occur during New Year's, Reading Week, and after final exams in April (THE SPRING SHAKER). As you can see, they all occur while school is out, so going on these trips won’t screw you over with you're schooling - That's what the profs are for. We also organize other smaller trips during the year.
But if you can't wait until New Year's or you think that the time between the ski trips are too long and that you would suffer from withdrawal from fun - don't worry, be happy cause the ski club conducts Pub Crawls, Life Celbrations, Premier Movie Showings, and other PARTIES throughout the school year. And the beautiful thing about this club is you can come to as few or as many events as you want. All the benefits, without any commitments - too bad other things in life weren't this way!
So if you are interested and want to join, it's only $10 for the year. That $10 gets you discounts to all our events as well as all the sponsors deals. Contact the office which ever way is most convenient for you (though coming up to the office on 6th floor SUB is the best way to communicate with us).
